About the Course The Basic Manufacturing Course, running from April 8th to June 30th, provides pre-apprenticeship instruction in a supportive environment. Classes are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, allowing flexibility for working individuals to pursue their education.

  • No Cost: This program is completely free for students, removing financial barriers to education.

  • $200 Stipend: Eligible students may receive a $200 stipend to support their participation in the course.

Madison County Working Solutions and the Carpenter’s Union are excited to announce 'We Build your dream Career,' a six-week training program designed to equip you with essential skills in the construction industry.


Training Details:

  • Duration: April 22, 2024 - June 3, 2024

  • Location: 6920 Princeton CT Syracuse, NY 13212

  • Training Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays (5:00 pm - 9:00 pm), Saturdays (7:00 am - 3:30 pm)

  • Training Topics: Concrete Forms and Footers, Wood Framing, Metal Studs, Drywall, and Acoustical Ceilings

  • Supportive Services: Gas cards and EZ Pass will be provided to assist with transportation.

Course Highlights:

  • No Cost: Participate in this comprehensive training program at absolutely no cost.

  • Duration: April 10 - June 27, Wednesdays and Thursdays (4:30 pm - 7:30 pm)

  • Location: Mohawk Valley Community College, Utica, NY

  • Learning Outcomes: Explore various manufacturing processes including safety, CNC Machining, hand tool usage, robotics, and lean manufacturing.

  • Professional Growth: Acquire skills to enhance your professional development, including interview techniques, LinkedIn account setup, and site visits to local manufacturers.

  • Stipend: Participants who complete the course will receive a $1,000 stipend.

  • Comprehensive Training: Explore a variety of essential manufacturing skills including safety protocols, CNC Machining, hand tool usage, robotics, and lean manufacturing techniques.

  • Career Preparation: Prepare for promising career opportunities or a Registered Apprenticeship in advanced manufacturing.

  • Job Interviews: Guaranteed interviews with up to six local companies upon completion of the program.

  • Supportive Services: Receive assistance with clothing and supplies for work, and access to up to two nationally recognized certifications: CMfgA and OSHA 10.

  • Childcare Support: Enjoy peace of mind with free day camp provided for children ages 6-14 during program hours. Camp themes include art, science, theater, computers, robotics, LEGO, cooking, swim, sports, and more!

  • Transportation Assistance: Transportation and childcare are provided for children under 6, ensuring that participants can fully engage in the program.

  • Duration: July 29 - August 15, 2024 (Monday - Thursday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm)

  • Location: In-person at MVCC Utica Campus

  • Cost: Absolutely no cost to participate

  • Stipend: Participants will receive a $1000 stipend upon successful completion of the program.

  • Optional OSHA 10 Course: Participants have the option to enroll in the OSHA 10 course (dates TBD).
