From August 2 to August 4, 2024 we are so excited to celebrate Summer Fest in Cazenovia!
Friday, August 2nd:
Bring the Kiddos to Truck a Palooza at the Cazenovia Library from 3-5pm, featuring vehicles from CAVAC, the village highway department, the fire department, and Benedict Tree Removal, as well as an ice cream truck and a Mid York Library System book delivery van! For the adults, we are kicking things off at the Madison County Distillery with live music from Southy’s Keys from 5PM-8PM at the Friend's of Caz Life Party. Come join us for some great food and local spirits. Bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy music and lawn games outside with the whole family. Suggested donation is $10 per person and 100% of the proceeds from the event will go to support more local events in Cazenovia.
Saturday, August 3rd:
Start your day with a leisurely stroll through the Cazenovia Farmers Market to see the local bounty of the region with the Twin Magicians performing balloon magic for kids in the village. Grab a coffee and breakfast at one of our many great breakfast spots - H.Grey, Purpose Coffee, Dave's Diner, Pewter Spoon, Caz Bagel and more! Then, starting at 10am gather the whole family for the kids' scavenger hunt around town. Get your clue sheet online (www.cazenovialife.com/summerfest-scavenger-hunt-2024) or at Carriage Barn Books. Turn in completed hunts for a prize and entry into drawing with your chance to win a $250 gift card for a kid's bike! Sponsored by Cazenovia Realtor, Tom Tait.
Head down to Lakeland Park from 12noon for food trucks - we absolutely love Phokouttahere for their shrimp fries and bahn mi sandwiches! Don't miss the karate demonstration at 12:30 by Miori Martial Arts. There will also be live music from headliner Soul Injection and the party keeps going with teen cover band, Allusion along with yard games and more! Looking to get on the water? Morse Kayak Rental will be on-site for kayak and paddle board rentals, so that music can be enjoyed from the water!
Looking for something for the kids? Summit Church will be providing a huge tent filled with cotton candy, snow cones, games, and prizes to win. Kids can also visit the petting zoo with cows, bunnies, and more sponsored by Cazenovia Jewelry. From 1pm-4pm there will be horse drawn wagon rides through the village provided by Lamplit Farm sponsored by 20 East and Cazenovia Jewelry.
Later that evening, you can catch Projected art installation at Pewter Spoon starting at 9pm, presented by Stone Quarry Hill Art Park and Cazenovia-based artist Patti Christakos. The video installation, titled 'Nearby Rock Sighs Pink' is a series of photographic images of architectural details of Cazenovia College inspired by the iconic Cazenovia screen prints made in the 1970s by artist and former Cazenovia College instructor Rita Hammond (1924-1999).
Sunday, August 4th:
Start your morning with calm and serenity with a 1-hour yoga session on the docks at The Brewster Inn at 9:30. RSVP’s encouraged. Afterwards, stop by Cazenovia Artisans for a little culture, and enjoy a wood turning demo from 10am - 3pm with John Volcko on his lathe.
Then bring the kids for “Chalk the Walk” in Caz Village until 4pm. Chalk provided! Tag your masterpieces on social media to be shared by the Caz Life team! Starting at 12noon we will also be offering Kayak and stand up paddle board rentals from Morse Kayak Rental at Lakeland Park. The kids scavenger hunt continues 12-4pm so make sure to hand in those completed clue sheets at Carriage Barn Books to be included in the grand prize drawing!
