Caz Life is so excited to bring you another fun event this summer! Thanks to Chef / Owner / Caz-Native, Lavinia Fusco we will have her food truck "Phokouttahere" open for lunch tomorrow from 11am to 2pm in the Buyea's parking lot at 131 Albany Street!
She is a food industry veteran who has worked at some of Central New York's most beloved establishments -- Alto Cinco, Francescas, and our own Brewster Inn!
Her inspiration comes from her mixed heritage -- an Italian father and a Vietnamese mother. But her food doesn't adhere to either cuisine completely. It is inventive and creative, and down right delicious.
This writer is a die-hard fan of her bà hn-mi sandwich which is named after the bread that is used. This Vietnamese baguette made with rice and wheat flour that's light and crusty on the outside and airy on the inside. The sandwich comprised of pork, pickled veg, and cilantro was created in Saigon in the 195o's and has been (in our humble opinion) on of the best French / Vietnamese combos out there. period.
